BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
Performing together since 1997, this duo consists of the husband and wife team of Danny and Linda Trusty. A guitar player for 53 years, Danny also plays claw-hammer banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and many other instruments. Linda plays up-right bass, guitar and autoharp. Both sing lead and harmony vocals and often switch parts on many of their songs. They play acoustically in traditional styles of old-time, blues, bluegrass, gospel, and country.The Trustys create their own arrangements and have a unique style that is popular and well received at corporate gatherings, bluegrass festivals, fairs, banquets, churches, and various other venues in the Southeastern United States. They also perform numerous shows in prisons in Mississippi and Louisiana, and work with Freedom Ministries led by Pastor Douglas Lee. The Trustys have released three CD’s, “Reaching for Your Hand” recorded in 2001, “Creatures, Characters, & Celestial Celebrations” recorded in 2003, and “Ain’t Nothing as Good as You” recorded in 2005. They are also talented songwriters and several of their compositions are included in both their recordings and live performances. In addition to their weekly jobs, Danny as a banker and Linda as a first grade teacher, the duo performs forty or more shows annually. The Trustys have performed for the Mississippi House of Representatives and are currently listed in The Mississippi Performing Artists Roster published by the Mississippi Arts Commission. They were recently selected by the Mississippi Arts Commission to be showcased on the Southern Artistry Registry. This registry spotlights achievements of artists who live and work in the South and includes artists from the nine Southeastern states.
